Going Down The Road...
Joshua Tree National Park
Hey Everybody, Dutch here. Here I am on top of the Harding Ice Field in Seward Alaska. Pushing to the top with Rita and the kids was challenging. Once on top the views were awesome and the sense of acomplishment made me proud. " Never let your circumstances dictate your future." Luckily it was a great day and we started out at about 2:00 P.M. We climed over 3500 vertical feet over 4 miles and at the end we treked thru snow. We hung out for about 1/2 hour on top and began our descent which was kinda scary. We were the last people on top until we met some europeans heading up at like 6:00 P.M. We finally arrived at the truck around 10:30 P.M. starving and had a cookout down the street at the Safeway on the back of the truck bed. What a great day. I heard a guy say it was the best hike in Alaska and I would have to agree. Hopefully Mt. Mckinley maybe in the near future.
PHILADELPHIA PHILLIES 2008 WORLD SERIES CHAMPIONS
The Last time I saw this scene was in October of 1980. The view from the Stadium all the way down Broad St. filled with adoring fans is something that you never forget.
Fast forward to 2008 and we have a new set of fans who get to experience the feeling of winning a World Championship. It's amazing how I thought the winning ways of a city would take another 25 years to happen again. I'm just glad that the Phillies were able to bring it home.
